Process Engineer

Position Summary: Electronic assembly / SMT Process Engineer is responsible for reviewing customer documents and developing repeatable SMT area processes for paste printing, pick & place, and reflow. Also, other responsibilities to develop process improvements and implementing for through hole, electromechanical assembly areas.

Responsibilities: • Champion in our SMT manufacturing processes. • Detailed understanding of stencil design and modifications. • Develop consistent paste printing technics for controlling SMT defects • Detailed understanding of tooling required for SMT Pallets and fixtures • Advance level understanding of the reflow process. • Detailed understanding of solder paste inspection and quality objectives • Must know SMT machines performance through effective maintenance programs. • Understand and provide process control training • Continuously improving total process performance to provide satisfactory results. • Responsible for the development and optimization of manufacturing processes. • Drives improvement in process equipment capability. • Routinely perform moderately-complex to complex processes experiments • Improves manufacturing processes using statistical process control techniques. • Utilizes process data to continually improve processes and reduce defects. • Provides design for manufacturability and assembly input. • Design process flow and rate realization • Overall develop processes, reducing defects, analyze customer returns and reduce rework • Communicate efficiently to both internal and external customers

Qualifications: • Education: Degree in Manufacturing, Process Engineering or Equivalent • Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience required • Demonstrated experience in process improvement • Experience in SPC, design of experiments and design for manufacturability • Very knowledgeable in IPC industry standards • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations • Ability to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing. • Excellent Computer Skills

Physical Requirements: • Work Environment: Office/Manufacturing environment where the noise level is generally quiet to moderately noisy. • Weight Requirements: Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 40 pounds. • Body Movements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Ability to stand, sit, and move about facility for long periods of time. Ability to use hands and fingers. • Work Position: Combination of sitting, standing, and walking around. • Sensory Requirements: Vision, speech, hearing, smell and touch are routinely used in day to day functions.
