Bose Corporation is seeking an Electronics Test Oversight Engineer as part of the Supplier Engagement Engineering (SEE) organization. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing our contract manufacturers (CM’s) and 3rd party test system integrators in the development/implementation of electronics test processes for new Bose products. In addition, your subject matter expertise in test methods, and test equipment will be heavily leveraged.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Review/Provide design for testability (DFT) input with the design community. Participate in architectural level design reviews and translate test development requirements to contract manufacturing partners Oversee the development of the electronics test strategy for new products, ensuring test coverage, first-pass yield, and cycle time requirements are met Review, comment and approve of electronics test process and equipment development activities including those in an FDA regulated environment. Ensure robustness of CM developed test strategy and equipment through use of statistical methods: MSA, GR&R and initial parametric data review. Drive CMs to execute NPI activities on time / within budget Evaluate CM capabilities and gaps and drive systemic improvements through maturity matrix and Quarterly Business Review processes. Summarize project status and elevate abnormalities
Must have many of the following skills, abilities and knowledge: Management of Contract Manufacturer or 3rd party test development oversight experience Expertise in developing electronics test processes for use in manufacturing consumer electronic devices, hearing aids, eye wear, wearables, headphones. Subject matter expertise in electronics test processes such as: In-Circuit Test: JTAG device programming, boundary scan, test jet PCB functional test, to include test access methods without use of test points System level functional test, to include verification of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Test methods required for LED’s, MEMS microphones, and assorted user interface features Knowledge and demonstrated ability using structured problem solving, data analysis and failure analysis methodologies/techniques. Experience bringing new products/technologies into high volume production. Development experience in an FDA environment. Project management & communication skills. Ability to drive milestone attainment via influence. Capability to document clear expectations with rigorous follow-up is essential. Time management and prioritization skills. Ability to simultaneously overseeing multiple development programs across the globe. PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP or other advanced product quality planning experience. Travel up to 20% of the year may be required.
Qualifications: 5 to 7 years of related experience in the field of process/manufacturing development and oversight MS or BS degree in electrical engineering is preferred
