Job Description: Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Champion in the integration of new product via NPI (New Product Introduction) or ECN (Engineering Change Notice) Develop work instructions and process controls for operations staff Responsible for the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including goals Foster relationships with customers to facilitate new designs and ensure efficient production methods and quality results Reduce unnecessary data entry and compile customer documentation Design, develop and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of machinery and equipment according to specifications and arrange for purchase of machinery and equipment according to specifications and quality standards Apply statistical methods and perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency Confer with management, peers and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes Represent manufacturing/engineering on cross-functional teams Perform other duties as assigned by management
REQUIRED ABILITIES Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Computer Aided Design (CAD), SoildWorks Experience, Gerber, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design Of Experiments (DOE) Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications
