Abstract: Tektronix Measurement Business Division manufacturing unit was presented with a requirement to increase staff productivity while at the same time to improve the quality and reliability of its services and products: in short, to make the business more efficient. We examined many problem areas and discovered that people were unable to make well-informed decisions due to data fragmentation and information overload. Data in the manufacturing process was scattered over 25 computers, 6 platforms, and 14 systems. In order to improve this situation we decided to implement an integrated quality tracking system in order to track products from the component stage to the final shipping stage. This quality tracking system we implemented provides Online information describing defects, symptoms, rework and rejects in a form useful problem solving and resource reallocation. It also integrates quality-tracking systems that support continuous improvement to the manufacturing process. This system also has easy data entry. The paper below describes the implementation process and the preliminary results of our new integrated quality tracking system. KEYWORDS Quality, Defect Tracking, Quality Software
