Abstract: Nanomaterials and printed electronics have both been touted as the "next big thing" for several years. Significant funding to universities by governments worldwide is now starting to bear fruit as new products start to appear on the market in areas as diverse as e-readers and solar panels. These developments, not necessarily in anticipated large markets such as RFID tags, illustrate some of the materials and business challenges in introducing new products, processes and materials in emerging markets. This presentation illustrates specific business and technical challenges and how they can be overcome.
