ON THERMAL PERFORMANCE OF A PLANAR MAGNETIC TRANSFORMER

Abstract: This is a numerical and experimental study of micro-transformer thermal behavior in a cell-phone charger. A detailed thermal management of the charger has been presented. In the end some thermal solutions for spreading the hot spot temperature have been outlined. It is shown that this thermal solution strategy can reduce the touch temperature by 13 C.
