Abstract: This paper offers employees of an organization the perspective and tools they need to improve operations. It helps them learn how to find the causes of their quality and delivery problems and take action to eliminate them. It is written not just for managers, engineers or owners of business, but also for those who assemble the product, the technician who supports them and the supervisor responsible for workforce performance.

Although the author has had the privilege and benefit of exposure to six sigma, lean and other terrific quality tools and techniques, it is not necessary for the improvement practitioner to be certified.

All it takes is the courage to start, the willingness to try, and fail and learn from those mistakes. It takes patience to let improvement happen.
