EMS ACQUISITION INTEGRATION – CREATING OPERATIONAL SYNERGY WHILE STAYING ALIGNED WITH ACQUIRED CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS

Abstract: When an original equipment manufacturer acquires a facility or product line, customers seldom see the difference. However, in the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) world, the individual “brand” of a given EMS company is its culture and processes for service delivery. EMS provider EPIC Technologies made three major North American acquisitions over the last three years and is continuing global expansion efforts in 2006. This paper will look at its processes for optimizing operations to its Synchronous Flow Manufacturing (SFM) model, integrating best practices learned from acquired facilities and maintaining customer satisfaction during acquisition integration.
