Abstract: This paper mainly focuses on upgrading a software organization from CMMI level 4 to level 5 through Six Sigma (DMAIC) Methodology. This study is carried out in leading Software Company in India. HCL Technology, Chennai. Initially a detailed literature survey is made in the area of software quality frame work models namely CMMI and Six Sigma. Six Sigma assures the components of CMMI Level 5 process namely “Organizational Innovation and Deployment” (OID) and “Causal Analysis and Resolution” (CAR). The objective of the study is to focus on the phases Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) from improving existing product / process at the same time to achieve OID and CAR.
