Video Contest on Youtube
Submit a link to your video to Ryan Flaherty by October 1, 2010 and you'll be eligible to win a free half-day course* at SMTAI in Orlando. The winner will be selected based on the highest number of views so send it to your colleagues for support.
Want to make a video but don't know how? If you already have a camera or webcam and a computer, follow the steps below, and don't hesitate to ask Ryan (952-920-7682, ryan@smta.org), he'll walk you through the rest.
How to upload video directly from your webcam / camera:
1. Sign in to YouTube.com or start a YouTube account.
2. Go to the Record From Webcam page.
3. Enter your video info in the left column. This is required before recording begins.
4. If you get a message that says "www.youtube.com is requesting access to your camera and microphone," click the "Allow" button.
5. If you don't see a picture in the record section, you may need to choose a different video source from the video dropdown in the "Record Video" window.
6. Once you see a picture coming from your camera, click the "Record" button to start.
7. When you're finished recording, click the "Done" button if you're satisfied with your video, or click the "Re-Record" button if you'd like to try recording it again.
8. When you click the "Done" button, your video is automatically uploaded to YouTube and starts processing. You can edit information about the video by going to the My Videos page.
* The free half-day course must be used at SMTAI 2010 but can be transferred to someone else if you want, that means you can use it or give it to a client!
