Description
Harsh Environment The SMTA and Auburn University are once again organizing a Harsh Environment Electronics Workshop based on the success of the 2003 event. Dr. John Evans, Auburn University, and SMTA vice president of technical programs Dr. Ken Gilleo, ET-Trends LLC, invite you to submit an abstract by March 12 to participate in this exciting program.

Presentations rather than papers are solicited for a workshop format to provide new and timely information for attendees. The workshop format will allow more time for interaction, questions, and answers. The session for each topic will begin with an overview followed by detailed presentations.

Presentation topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Issues and Opportunities- Automotive Environment
  • Activities in Semiconductor Technology
  • Issues with Vehicle Systems
  • Substrate Advancements
  • Next Generation Automotive Systems
  • Advancements in Materials

  • Harsh Environment Abstracts of 200-300 words are being accepted through March 12 and should be submitted by email to SMTA director of education Kristin Stromberg (kristin@smta.org), or the abstract can be sent by fax or US Mail to Kristin's attention:

    5200 Willson Road, Suite 215
    Edina, MN 55424-1316
    Fax: 952-926-1819

Be sure to include with your abstract the paper title, your name, company, complete mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and email address. Check the Symposia page of the Education & Events section for developing information on the Harsh Environment Electronics Workshop.
