SMTA / Auburn University CAVE - High Temperature and Harsh Environments Electronics Workshop
June 24 - June 25
Location Hyatt Regency, Dearborn, MI
Description The SMTA in cooperation with Auburn University CAVE is organizing a workshop on Harsh Environments and High-Temperature Electronics. The conference chairman is Dr. John Evans, Auburn University.
SMTA vice president of technical programs Dr. Ken Gilleo of Cookson Performance Solutions says, "Known for its roots in the automotive industry, Dearborn is the perfect location for the topic, and teaming directly with Auburn University furthers the SMTA's goal to foster a greater relationship between industry and academia."
This workshop will address the concerns related to harsh environment electronics and the challenges facing the vehicle electronics community. It is intended to bring together the needs from "end-users" with the capabilities of the research community and industrial supply base.
In particular, the workshop addresses the challenges of meeting expanding temperature ranges (-55C to +150C/+200C) with increased vibration, higher packaging density, and longer reliability. Next generation requirements for automotive electronics are explored from the systems level and potential supply based solutions are presented.
In addition, industrial needs for non-automotive vehicle requirements are addressed, and methods for performing accelerated life testing and their correlation with field requirements are covered.
Session 1: Automotive Applications Session 2: Non-Automotive Applications
Keynote Presentation and Luncheon Changing Environment for Automotive Electronic Systems Matthew Walsh, Delphi Delco
Session 3: Device and Device Reliability Session 4: Substrate and Thermal Interface Session 5: Protective Coating Material and Solders
