"Additive Manufacturing (or as it is better known) 3D Printing

Additive Manufacturing (or as it is better known) 3D Printing: a short power point overview of the history of additive manufacturing and the different technologies which today are often lumped together under the title of 3D printing. Included in this presentation will be a functional demonstration fused filament printing (FDM) slicer software used for determining layer thickness and product density. Demonstration will be done using fused filament one of the more common 3D print technologies using the KISSlicer software in the Fablicator 3D printer.

By end of presentation the attendees should have: 1) A grasp that the technology has been around longer than many think. 2) Have a better understanding that while all additive manufacturing is generally lumped together and called 3D printing there are several very different technologies that make up this category.  Understand where fused filament fits in this mix and why for many industry and educational uses today it maybe the best match. Plus, a very general comparison of the type and level of equipment in this section of 3D printing and their trade off's.

"A New Approach To Rapid Prototyping"

Building electronic devices has always been a compromise between cost, flexibility and time. BotFactory is born with the idea of providing all three, anywhere and to everyone. By combining technologies like inkjet, extrusion and machine vision, BotFactory's products democratize electronics design by providing the tools to easily print and assemble electronic circuits at the Lab, Office or Home.

Our presentation will cover the technical challenges regarding inkjet printing conductive and insulating inks, dispensing and pick-and-placing components (especially regarding computer vision technology) and integrating them into a small package at a low-cost.
